Engage

My mission for all engagements is to provide ideas, advice, insights and novel approaches that do more than solve immediate challenges; they help actualize the ability of companies to deliver on their mission and purpose.

Engagements typically follow one of these structures:

  • serving as a fractional resource, which allows for deeper integration with the company and its management team
  • acting in an advisory capacity to the CEO or another senior leader
  • auditing internal operational metrics (KPI/OKR) and data infrastructure including:
    • Assessing measurement process and capabilities
    • Reviewing
      • data access
      • reporting
      • analysis
      • workflow measurement
    • Evaluating technology stack

The engagement type is flexible and can be adapted as needed.

Fractional

Fractional engagements involve taking on operational responsibilities including, but not limited to, joining the C-team, taking on direct reports and being accountable for specific deliverables and metrics.

Example scenarios that can drive a fractional engagement:

1

The company is dealing with operational complexities that surpass the capacity or expertise of the current team.

2

The CEO is spending too much time on non-strategic work and wants to free up their time to focus on broader business strategies

3

The CEO wants a partner to help with strategic planning and doesn’t want to distract the team.

4

The company wants a cost effective way to tap into high-level executional expertise

5

All of the above

The engagement is typically open-ended and is a great fit for small-to-midsize companies that are trying to scale their processes, operations and company structures.

Advisor

Advisory services are designed to offer the CEO an experienced resource familiar with their business operations. The collaboration begins with an in-depth analysis of the business, covering aspects like finance, product, sales, marketing and personnel. This ensures I’m well-prepared to stand shoulder to shoulder when challenges emerge. It provides the company with an additional perspective, aiding in decision-making, strategy formulation, and offering general advice on business-related matters.

Audit Operational Metrics

You have to create tools that enable people to make decisions at the same level you would make them yourself. So how do you create scale and leverage? The first thing I would recommend is to build a dashboard.

Audit services are intended to help companies leverage data to maximize performance. It starts with by auditing internal operations to assess how data is being deployed to create accountability and deliver real-time insights. Example activities include:

  • Working with senior management to develop real-time dashboards for the company
  • Reviewing internal workflow designs for  measurement and reporting – (KPI/OKR)
  • Ensuring employee access to data, tools and reporting to allow them to “self-serve”
  • Evaluating technology capabilities to verify they can support current and future needs

After a completed audit engagement, companies will have increased visibility into performance and be in a position to automate accountability.
